You, in all the tiny pieces that you are, subsided my soul and took me swinging, daring me to dream like I thought I was dancing and urging me to believe like my mind was a magnet. It shook me, grabbed hold of my shoulders and spun me around. The taste of you the sweetest of sours I’ve found, and the touch of you the gentlest of explorers the world round. If my legs could leap like my pulse does and my arms could withstand what my thoughts do, then should I fall I would fly for miles. Should I give in I would fold for hours.

But I haven’t seen anything yet,
This has barely been anything yet.

One kiss from you and I’m drunk up on that potion, that big old smile is all you wore.

Belief.
They say when you fall you’re supposed to move downwards,
So I can’t understand why I’m surrounded by stars.
I’ll look back on this and remember a fence,
To be opened or climbed,
But the beginning of forever on the other side.
A patch of sand, warmed cold by the moon.
A path and a hand,
Held but still broken.
Pirates and games,
And always potato.
Laughter in silence,
And a beige cotton bag,
Holding words,
The words for them.
